A high rise condo is a great way to own a luxurious home without many of the traditional hassles of ownership such as property maintenance and groundskeeping.
At Alternative Choice Real Estate, we prefer highrise living to conventional house living. High rise units are not for everyone though. With no backyard and little or no storage area they can be a challenging living environment for some. They are well suited for many individuals or couples but usually not families.

Lets compare High Rise living to conventional home living:
It is a much different lifestyle, in a highrise condo. One of the largest differences is that you have very little maintenance. There isn’t a yard, a lawn, sprinklers or landscaping to take care of. You don’t have to worry about painting the exterior of your place or fixing the roof or even taking out the trash! Water heaters, plumbing, air conditioners, all those annoying little things that break are usually taken care of by the buildings, home owners association. We call it a “key in key out” lifestyle. Once you turn the key you are living. There are no property worries or concerns besides you just simply living in your space. Most units have beautiful strip, mountain or valley views that are like nothing else. The convienience of living close to the strip is also a huge advantage for weekend fine dining, clubbing, bar hoping or other fun activites.
There are negatives however and for some families, a highrise just won’t work. You don’t have much storage, a yard or room for a workshop. You also can’t do a room addition like you can in a conventional home because the space next to yours is someone elses home! If you have multiple cars parking may be a serious issue. If you are a smoker and don’t have a balcony, smoking out of the window may be a real nuisance. Safety concerns over natural disasters, such as earthquakes and fire are also a real threat but are minimzed by new building construction codes. Small children on balconies that are tens of stories in the air is also a real safety concern.

Las Vegas High Rise Living is not for everyone…
For the select few it’s a magical lifestyle. It simplifies things and lets you focus more on living than maintaining. When you own a highrise, more than anything, you are buying a new, unique, hip, more simple lifestyle.

Today is July 4th, a great day in American history that marks the day some 233 year ago the U.S. broke free from England to become a separate country. The original settlers and great waves of subsequent immigrants have come here in pursuit of economic, political, social, and religious freedom. This still remains true.
